Daryaganj Diaries

There is a massive explosion of books every Sunday at Daryaganj in Old Delhi. The permanent shops shut down once a week to make way for a busy street fair, home to a range of second-hand books, some new, some old and out of print now. Once you cross the section selling books, you can also find clothes, stationery, tools, electronics..the list is endless. I find pleasure in observing the structure of this unorganised make-shift market place. For the past 6 years I have been visiting the book market at least once a month. I discover rare books about rare subjects and often, I learn about things I had never known about. The last time I visited, I bought a book on Logic that got me interested in philosophy. The bustle, the pace, the noise, I enjoy every bit of the Daryaganj experience. Following are some images from one of my trips.
